As per Republic Act 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, the Bank wishes to inform you that:

Privacy of information is a fundamental human right. The Data Privacy Act is an Act protecting individual personal information in information and communication systems in the government and the private sector.

As a responsible financial institution, it is our duty to inform you of your rights as a valued customer, to the confidentiality of any personal information you may furnish in the course of doing business with us.

Information We May Collect

• name, religion, birth date, marital status, address, gender, nationality, contact information, civil status and educational background;
• social security number ,tax identification number and and other information issued by government agencies;
• asset, business and employment details;
• financial information (such as income, expenses, transaction history, deposits and payments);
• third party transactions and history;
• specimen signature;
• cctv footage, images and voice recordings with you;

Transparency

As a financial institution we always inform our valued customer why, when, where, what and how we collect, use, process, share, dispose of your personal information including your rights to privacy using clear and plain language.

Legitimate Purpose

Be assured that any information you give is treated with the utmost confidentiality and shall be used solely for the purposes such information was intended.

Proportionality

We only process what is needed, relevant and suitable without being in excess with respect to your declared and specified purpose.  

We use personal information for the purpose:

1. To evaluate and process your application
   We use your information to facilitate processing your application and offer you products and services suited to your needs.
2. To reach out to you 
   We collect your data to send you updates on our products and services and help us improve the way we serve you.
3. To perform activities that you consented to
   We process your information with your consent and only for its intended purpose. We recognize your rights as a valued client.
4. For compliance with laws and regulation
   We use your data in compliance with the Credit Bureau, the Anti-Money Laundering Act, BSP Memorandums and Circulars, the BIR and other regulatory agencies.
5. To manage your accounts and protect you
   We consistently seek to improve our security management services, perform due diligence, relationship management, and risk management to keep your accounts safe from illegal activities and fraud.
6. To help settle your claims
   Aside from protecting your data, it is our legal obligation to help you settle your claims involving our products and services by using data we collected from you.

Data Sharing

Dumaguete City Development Bank, Inc. assures our valued clients that any disclosure or transfer of personal data to a third party is governed by what is allowed by the law, the mandates of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, requirements of the Credit Information and Investigation Board and other regulatory agencies.

Data Retention

The Bank may retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes for which it was obtained.

If you choose to close your accounts with us, were are obligated to preserve and safely store your data for at least 5 years as mandated by Republic Act 9160 in Rule 5 Prevention of Money Laundering Section 2.
